SO!!!!
Where do I find a men’s coat in Cape Town–I am desperate. I tried the SA Navy in Simons Town, no luck.. Stutterfords have a small range, no great shakes. House of Monatic may be an option.
Maybe a tailor?
I will even consider a good used coat. With a dry clean it could look good.
Any suggestions.

Try the Country Road range at Woolworths. I got a great pea coat from there. Well-made, tailored Ozzie brand.

Pringle at the V&A have some great coats on sale now 50% off! and extremely good value even for the occasional wear given the weight.

I found several at markhams and YDE
but they were all too big or too small or just didnt fit right.
I eventually settled for a variation…looks good…but the mission isnt over.

My hypothetical coat will be fabulous…until then, I understand that the customers will prefer something a little more tangible As for the name, including men means that lulu-bee-clara-belle-rose-lila-etc… is going to need a rework. Will keep you boys posted.

Hey Blade, (not to steal your customer Amanda ;p)
I was looking for this exact same thing since the end of ’06, but nobody had anything close.
I finally got what I deem to be the most versatile piece of sortorial genius ever concieved by man – It was part of the TRIGGER range at YDE. Yup, it’s local, I was surprised, but I haven’t seen it on the shelf since. Worth having a look around YDE though – they have some crazy styles in there and you CAN’T get through the place without finding something that fits your personality.

But Seriously Amanda, you would do the world a favour…

Blade! In pursuit of the perfect coat…us girls struggle too. There’s lots available if you’re happy with polyester or acrylic. It’s about perfect cut, fit and fabric – and it is not easy to find (at a reasonable price). My partner and I are debating whether to include mens’ coats in our new line. You’ve just convinced me that we should!
