Today I discovered something interesting on twitter. There is a new TV show about to hit South African televisions @ 21h30 on Friday, November 3. The show is called Man. The show is about the love lives of 4 Cape Townian guys Henri Slier, Kaizer Tsosane, Trevor Gow and Maurice Levin.
After looking at the promo video for the show I noticed that these guys frequent a lot of the same spots that I do around Cape Town. I have also seen 1 of them out quite regularly. From what I saw, these boys have game. Whether its SolidGame?…I’m waiting for see the actual show before I make that call.
One of the things I’m looking forward to is what they share about a Man’s point of view on the Cape Town singles and dating scene. I thought I was the only one airing their opinion on the subject.
The producers seem to have picked an interesting group of guys, each quite different from each other and with different styles. Another thing that I really like about this is the freshness. The idea is not original there are 1 or two shows I’ve seen on MTV or E! but that’s not a problem for me. It’s got an authentic South African twist to it and its not patronizing as some RSA reality shows tend to be. An example of this, was the AXE Sweet Life show. That show was terrible! I couldn’t watch that shit. It was like one LONG advert for AXE.
I would be awesome if AXE or PERONI or something similar could put their money behind a show like this. I’ll be keeping an eye on this show over its 13 episodes.
